Syrian receives positive decision after a long wait
After a long waiting period Syrian receives a positive decision from the Federal Asylum Court
Mr. A comes from Syria and loged an asylum application in June 2015. In its decision from March 2017 the Federal Asylum Office rejected the application, granted him subsidiary protection and awarded him a temporary residence permit for one year.
The Federal Asylum Office (FAO) argued that he did not present reasons for his personal threats in Syria and left Syria due to the general security situation. In July 2017 he lodged an appeal to the Federal Asylum Court (FAC) concerning the rejection of refugee status. After the FAC did not decide within their legally stipulated deadline of six months, Mr. A lodged a complaint of lateness in October 2018.
Consequently in the same month the FAC granted Mr. A refugee status on grounds of asylum relevant claims of persecution upon return to Syria.
