Austrian Regional Police Directorate dismiss a car drivers case
Mr. O. is a Nigerian citizen. With penal order from July 2019 he was fined €950 for not having driven a vehicle with Hungarian license plates without the appropriate child safety device transporting three children.
In effect, Mr. O. appealed the order in July 2019, arguing that he did not own a vehicle with Hungarian license plates and could not have driven it. Actually, in June 2019, Mr. O. was driving his boss' car, which was registered in Austria, and was not transporting any children. The children were transported by a different driver of a vehicle with Hungarian license plates.
Thereupon the Regional Police Directorate, by notice of August 2019, dismissed Mr. O's case.
